The HIGHEST quality bolos on the market are made by the Ladder Golf Game. I would highly recommend them to anyone and wouldn't personally use anything else bolo wise if I wanted pure quality. They are $12.95, not $10, but trust me, the extra $2.95 is well worth the money spent! Get yours today by clicking HERE.
Here's a picture of the rivet design that they use to set the rope in the bolo. They DON'T drill all of the way through the bolo like some others do (which looks cheap).

AJJ Cornhole drop ships their games, so if there is a delay in the manufacturing process, then it is out of their hands, since they are the mercy of the other company. The bolos that they sell are not as high of a quality as the Ladder Golf Game, since they drill completely through the hole and use a different type of rope. LG's bolos are always in stock, since they are the manufacturer. I would always email a company first to make sure something is in stock before ordering, since this is the busy season. I don't personally own a set of their bolos, but you can tell the difference between the two brands from the following pictures:
As for the rungs, 1" is commonly used too to make this set, so no, I don't think it is too big.
sorry i didnt see that response! Im doing 1" rungs with 1 1/2 inch base, seems a lot more sturdier. Im also using colored duck tape around the rungs to make them different colors, im going with green, blue and white

For anyone considering wrapping the rungs in duct tape, I offer this piece of advice... don't do it. You will completely remove any challenge from the game. The PVC rungs are slippery and give very little resistance to the bola ropes. The result is bolas spinning smoothly around the rungs. If you put anything over the PVc, even paint, you might as well just use velcro because the bolas are just going to stick when they hit.
